Every limited company, partnership and sole trader in the official Swedish registers can be looked up by name or organisation number. Each company page shows its registered seat and municipality, industry, year of registration, legal form and status – and for companies that file annual accounts, revenue, profit and number of employees year by year.
A Swedish organisation number has ten digits and is usually written as 556123-4567. You can search with or without the hyphen, and also with the twelve-digit form used in some systems – the right company is found either way. The number stays with the company for life even if the name changes, which makes it safer to search on than the trade name.
The base data comes from Bolagsverket, which maintains the official Swedish company register, supplemented with industry and municipality data from Statistics Sweden. Financial figures are based on the annual accounts the companies have filed. A newly registered company therefore appears as soon as it is in the register, while accounting figures always lag one financial year behind.
